Poster advertising performances by Timothy Leary (1920-1996) as a "stand-up philosopher" at the Earth Tavern in Portland, Oregon, in 1980. Leary was a psychologist and an advocate for the use of psychedelic drugs. The Earth Tavern was located on NW 21st Avenue in Portland and operated from 1973 to 1982.
Charles H. Martin re-election campaign poster
Poster for the re-election campaign of Oregon Governor Charles H. Martin (1863-1946). After serving in the U.S. Army, Martin was elected as a representative in the U.S. Congress in 1930 and 1932, and was elected governor of Oregon in 1934. He was defeated in the primary for the 1938 Democratic gubernatorial election and retired from politics after the end of his term.
