Scope and Contents

This collection was created by the Oregon Historical Society in an effort to gather together ephemera relating to the wine and spirits industry in Oregon that was collected under the society's Oregon Wine Archives initiative. Included are clippings, brochures, newsletters, newspapers, magazines, wine labels, business cards, posters, programs, bulletins, and monographs relating to wines, their production and marketing, relevant issues, and affiliated industries. Most of the materials date from 1972-2002.

The Oregon Historical Society owns the materials in the Research Library and makes available reproductions for research, publication, and other uses. The Society does not necessarily hold copyright to all materials in the collections. In some cases, permission for use may require seeking additional authorization from copyright owners.

Historical Note

The Oregon Historical Society began collecting materials relating to the wine industry in the 1990s, in recognition of the economic and cultural significance of the industry to the state of Oregon. This collection contains materials donated to the Oregon Wine Archives by individuals in the wine and spirits industry, as well as items collected by Oregon Historical Society staff.

This collection, created by the Oregon Historical Society, contains ephemera relating to the wine and spirits industry in Oregon. Immediate Source of Acquisition

The collection was assembled from a variety of sources by the Oregon Historical Society. Provenance can be traced from accession numbers on some individual items. Includes items from Lib. Acc. 23670, Lib. Acc. 23996, Lib. Acc. 24070, and Lib. Acc. 24126.
