Abstract

The papers of Jacob Avshalomov consist of correspondence, clippings, programs, musical scores, certificates, memoir books, photographs, and publications relating mostly to his musical career, as well as those of his sons, David and Daniel, and his Russian-born father, Aaron. Also included are programs, reviews, and photographs of the Portland Junior Symphony (later the Portland Youth Philharmonic), which he led from 1954 to 1995.

Abstract

Program and tickets for a lecture in Portland, Oregon, featuring musical composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim (1930-2021) and a proof of a playbill for a Portland production of Sondheim's musical "Company," with cast and crew autographs. The materials were compiled by theater producer Corey Brunish, who produced and directed "Company" in Portland in 2009, and who won a Tony for his Broadway production of "Company" in 2022.
