Robert Brown collection
Scope and Contents
Collection consists largely of photocopies of articles by Robert Brown published in various scientific journals, 1868-1870, on botany, medicinal plants, birds, geology and Native American use of medicinal plants in the Pacific Northwest. The articles were published in Pharmaceutical Journal; the Transactions of the Edinburgh Geological Society; the Edinburgh Botanical Society Transactions; and The Ibis. Also included is a photocopy of a manuscript letter from Archibald Menzies to Robert Brown, 3 pages, undated.

Biographical note
Robert Brown (1842-1895) was a Scottish scientist, explorer, and author. He led a scientific expedition to Vancouver Island in 1864.
