Brown, Robert, 1842-1895

Collection consists largely of photocopies of articles by Robert Brown published in various scientific journals, 1868-1870, on botany, medicinal plants, birds, geology and Native American use of medicinal plants in the Pacific Northwest. Also included is a photocopy of a manuscript letter from Archibald Menzies to Robert Brown.

Collection includes correspondence with: Sir Robert Brown, 1866-1870; Elwood Evans, 1868-1884; A[delia] J. Leslie, 1884; A. W. Waters, 1878; and others. Also included is a manuscript refutation of the "Whitman saves Oregon" theory, 6 pages, circa 1890.
