Album containing black and white photographs by multiple photographers, circa 1920-1969, of scenes along the main line of the Spokane, Portland, and Seattle Railway, from Portland, Oregon, to Spokane, Washington. A large number of the images were taken along the Columbia River and in the Columbia River Gorge. Also included are photographs of Mount Hood, Mount St. Helens, and Mount Adams, and aerial views of Portland and Spokane.

Charles Arthur Sprague (1887-1969) was a newspaper editor and publisher, and served as governor of Oregon from 1939 to 1943. Collection includes correspondence, 1896-1968; documents relating to committees and commissions, 1949-1969, including Colleges for Oregon's Future, the Oregon Geographic Names Board, the Commission on the Rights, Liberties and Responsibilities of the American Indian, and the Oregon State Constitutional Revision Commission; and a last will and testament.

Sprague (1887-1969), governor of Oregon from 1938-1942, as well as of his wife, Blanche Chamberlain Sprague, and their children, Wallace and Martha. The images depict Sprague's political activities, as well as the Sprague family's private life.

Collection includes documents relating to Charles A. Sprague's suit in Marion County Circuit Court, April 1948, vs. Earl L. Fisher, Wallace S. Wharton, and Carl Chambers as members of the Oregon State Tax Commission. The complaint concerned the use of excess income taxes collected by the commission.

Bound account book kept by Uriah O. Springer, containing mostly accounts and some genealogical material. Springer enrolled in the First Oregon Volunteers in 1865 and died August 2, 1871, on the Lewis River, Washington, at age 25.
Springing from the Rocks: The Story of Wilhoit Mineral Springs
Historical information and images about Wilhoit Springs, near Molalla, Oregon, compiled by Judith Sanders Chapman and Lois E. Helvey Ray. Wilhoit Springs is named after John Wilhoit (1815-1895), who purchased the land. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a health resort was located at the springs. The site was eventually purchased by Clackamas County and developed as a county park.
