Jantzen, Inc. publications, photographs, and ephemera
Catalogs, souvenir book, and newsletter materials from Jantzen, Inc. (also known as Jantzen Knitting Mills), as well as photographs relating to company picnics and reunions. Jantzen was founded as the Portland Knitting Company in 1910 in Portland, Oregon, and changed its name to Jantzen Knitting Mills in 1918. The firm became a nationally known swimwear manufacturer in the 1920s and 1930s. In 1954, it changed its name to Jantzen, Inc.
J.K. Gill Company collection
The J.K. Gill Company was one of the largest retail and wholesale concerns of its kind on the Pacific Coast. Collection consists of printed ephemera, including advertisements for Christmas books; typescript carbon copies of statements of business for fiscal years ending May 1914, March 1920, and March 1922; and manuscript invoices.
