The loose recipe sheets were produced by Mary Cullen's Cottage, the household arts service of the Oregon Journal newspaper in Portland. One of the cookbooks, for durum wheat main dishes, was distributed by the Portland-based Porter-Scarpelli Macaroni Company. The other cookbook is for recipes using the soda drink 7UP.
