Letters and enclosed materials submitted to the Oregonian newspaper of Portland, Oregon, for potential inclusion in a special Oregon Trail Section, including family histories and genealogies. The Oregonian included the special section in its March 14, 1993, edition to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Oregon Trail.

Performing Arts History Committee records
Records of a committee organized by the Oregon Historical Society around 1966 to seek out information and materials documenting performing arts in the state. The collection consists primarily of meeting minutes from 1966-1976 and attached correspondence and other documents, and also includes two papers written for seminars at Lewis and Clark College in 1966 and 1968, concerning music history in Oregon.
Portland Manufacturing Company
Typescript carbon copy of a history, written by Thomas J. Autzen, of the Portland Manufacturing Company, a veneer and plywood business. The document discusses the company's history, operations, and growth, as well as many of its employees. Autzen (1888-1958) took over the company after the death of his father, Peter Autzen, in 1918, and led the business for much of his life.

Typescript copy of a history of the Portland Transportation Club, detailing the origins and activities of the club, based in Portland, Oregon. Also included is a booklet containing the constitution and bylaws of a separate, earlier club by the same name, which is discussed in a brief addendum to the history.
Ross E. Read papers
Small collection of materials related to the military service of Ross E. Read of Portland, Oregon, in Company D of the 1st U.S. Engineers during World War I. The bulk of the collection consists of documents and correspondence regarding citations and awards bestowed on Read for heroism during combat in Cantigny, France, in May 1918, and a book, published circa 1918, documenting the operations of the 1st U.S. Engineers during the war.

Rock Mesa campaign: how hope, faith and charity saved the Three Sisters Wilderness
History by Ron Eber of the campaign to prevent mining at Rock Mesa in the Three Sisters Wilderness. From 1963 to 1983, environmental activists and organizations including Friends of Three Sisters, the Sierra Club, the Oregon Environmental Council, and the Oregon Wildlife Federation lobbied the U.S. government to invalidate mining permits that the U.S. Forest Service had granted in 1961 for pumice rock mining at Rock Mesa. In July 1983, the Forest Service purchased all the mining claims.
