Frederick H. Strong papers
Materials relating to the life and career of Portland, Oregon, businessman Frederick H. Strong. The collection primarily consists of plans and photographs from the 1930s and 1940s of the Portland Public Market building, which Strong managed, and photographs of Portland in the 1890s and 1900s.

Collection includes a photostatic reproduction, typescript copy, and microfilm copy of "History of Oregon" by William Strong, derived from a June 20, 1878, interview of Strong by Hubert Howe Bancroft. Also included are papers from the law office of William Strong and Thomas Nelson Strong in Portland, Oregon. William Strong (1817-1887) came to Oregon in 1850; he served as a judge in the Oregon Territory and later as a justice on the supreme courts of Oregon and Washington.
