F. Royal, 1867-1869; student roll of Umpqua Academy, 1855-1857; correspondence of Stanley Olin Royal; papers regarding activities of the Royal family in the Methodist Episcopal Church; overland journey diary by William Hoffman, who traveled west with the Royals.

Biographical note
Charles Royal was a potter who married Mary Gearhart Royal in 1818. They started for Oregon in 1852 with five of their 13 children. They filed a donation land claim north of Gresham. Charles' brother, Rev. William Royal, founded a Methodist church in Portland in 1867.
