Slater to Fred Lockley, June 10, 1930, regarding the Corless diaries and their description of the killing of George Coggans and Olney McCoy during the Bannock Indian War, 1878; and a newspaper clipping from the Oregonian, July 6, 1931, reprinting a letter from D. W. Elledge to Fred Lockley regarding the same incident.
