The bulk of the collection is a manuscript diary, with a typescript copy, kept by Catherine J. Adams, 1885-1887, regarding her daily activities in Hillsboro, Oregon, and participation in the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. Also included is a typescript copy of a one-page letter from Adams' father, William Bartlit, dated August 17, 1878.
