Andrew A. Hall papers

 Collection
Identifier: Coll 904

Scope and Contents

The collection consists of two letters (originals and preservation photocopies) and a poem by Andrew A. Hall, a Scottish-American physician. The letters, both addressed to James Cooke of Portland, Oregon, were written while Hall was serving as a medical officer during World War I. The letters describe Hall's experiences on the Western Front and his views on war. The poem, titled "The Trees," is typed and undated. It includes a handwritten note to James Cooke's daughter, Eileen F. Cooke, suggesting that it is a newer version of a earlier poem that Hall had written.
