Collection includes photocopy documents relating to George Lemon Newell's military service, 1899-1901, and correspondence, primarily to his mother, 1898-1901, regarding his experiences during the Spanish-American War in the Philippines and during the Boxer Rebellion. Other papers in the collection date to the 1970s, including a biographical sketch, circa 1973, and a letter regarding his funeral, 1973.
