Nettie Rankin Bolland was a graduate of the University of Oregon Law School, a teacher at High School of Commerce (later Cleveland High School) in Portland, Oregon, and president of the Portland High School Teachers Association, the Portland Federation of Women's Organizations, the Republican Women's Club, and the Queen's Bench.
