Letters from John E. Dean (1923-1994) to his parents in Portland, Oregon, written while Dean was serving in World War II. Dean served in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater during the war, and later worked as a real estate appraiser and as a security guard at Holladay Park Hospital.

Souvenir photograph book of the Portland Air Base. The book was mailed by Private John Adams to Dora Barnes in May 1944. The air base was established in 1941; it would later become the Portland Air National Guard Base.

Schultz discusses his family background and career in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1929 to the late 1940s. Dutch Schultz discusses her family backround, her experiences raising a child while living in the Philippines after World War II, and her work for NASA as an employee of the Pan American airline.
