Werden A. Sanders was a jeweler who moved from Nebraska and began businesses in Colfax, Washington; Wallace, Idaho; and Lebanon, Oregon. Collection includes correspondence, 1881-1898, with family members in Nebraska and with Dr. J. Ulrich Wurster, a jeweler in Newport, Oregon; notes by Sanders regarding the free silver issue and the Bryan-McKinley campaign; and ephemera.

Most of the photographs depict various places and landscape views in Oregon. Some are pasted to Christmas greetings that Sands sent.

Sasaki discusses his early life as a second-generation Japanese American in Tualatin before World War II; his experiences while incarcerated by the U.S. government at the Minidoka War Relocation Center during the war; and his experiences working on the family farm in Tualatin.
