John L. Casteel was born in Randolph, Nebraska. He taught speech at the University of Oregon and the Union Theological Seminary in New York. Collection includes diaries describing Casteel's life in Randolph; his teaching career; his daughter, Margaret, and son, John Alden; and other topics.
Rev. Mark A. Chamberlin papers
Reverend Mark A. Chamberlin (born 1899) was a Methodist pastor and national officer in the Methodist Federation for Social Action. He hosted the "Religion and Life" program on KBOO radio, Portland, from 1971-1977. Papers include correspondence with KBOO; correspondence regarding the deportation of H.S. MacKay; notes and program materials from conferences attended by Chamberlin; and miscellaneous materials from the Oregon Chapter of the Methodist Federation for Social Action.
Clement G. Clarke collection
Clement G. Clarke was pastor of the First Congregational Church, Portland, Oregon, 1923-1928. Before coming to Portland, he had been forced to resign from positions in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Peoria, Illinois. Collection consists of typescript carbon copies of newspaper articles from Minneapolis and Peoria, 1911-1915, regarding Clarke's activities as pastor in those communities, and telegrams to the Oregonian, 1926-1928, regarding Clarke's character.
Clatsop Plains Pioneer Presbyterian Church records
Clatsop Plains Pioneer Presbyterian Church, near Warrenton, Oregon, was organized in 1846 and is the oldest Presbyterian church west of the Rocky Mountains in continuous existence. Collection consists of photocopy minutes, 54 pages, September 19, 1846-November 5, 1855, with records of founding members, sponsors and early transactions.

Oral history interview with Reverend John T. Conner conducted by E. Paul Hovey on January 24, 1980. Conner was campus minister for Westminster House at Oregon State University and served as moderator for the General Assembly of the United Presbyterian Church in 1977.
Isom Cranfill papers
Papers include a bound manuscript notebook of Isom Cranfill, 1 volume, no date, containing sermons, family history, memoirs, including overland journey to Oregon country, 1847, early Oregon Baptist church history, copies of letters from others on religious subjects, and list of churches, with memberships, all over the country, a few in the West. Also in the collection are manuscript letters from Cranfill to his children and grandchildren, 1868-1877.
