Papers of Ilia Alice Cowie-Freitas (née Young), a nurse from Vancouver, Washington, and her family. Cowie-Freitas attended nursing school at Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon, and worked in Vancouver and then in Arizona. Papers include pages from a scrapbook that Cowie-Freitas kept while attending nursing school, photographs, correspondence, and a family history.

Euphemia Dimick memoir and other writings
Writings by Euphemia Dimick (1877-1967) of Oregon, including diary entries and a memoir titled "Through the Wilderness." The writings relate to Dimick's experiences raising her daughter, Ruth Elizabeth Dimick (1916-1974). Ruth Dimick had athetoid cerebral palsy, a condition marked by difficulty with motor skills, which was not well understood or accommodated in the early 20th century.

Hattan (né Horsey, 1943-2022) relating to his career as an emergency medical technician for the Buck Ambulance Service in Portland, Oregon, including certificates, letters of appreciation, and photographs. Hattan was one of the first emergency medical technicians in Oregon, and in 1972 was one of four technicians who resuscitated Portland Mayor Terry Schrunk following a heart attack.
