Charles S. Jackson family photographs collection
The collection consists of photographs of newspaper owner C. S. Jackson (1860-1924) of Pendleton and Portland, Oregon; family members including his wife, Maria C. Jackson (1862-1956), his sons, Francis C. Jackson (1887-1919) and Philip L. Jackson (1893-1953), and his grandson, C. S. Jackson (1914-1947); and images relating to his newspaper enterprises, the East Oregonian and the Oregon Journal.
Charles Samuel Jackson papers
C. S. Jackson (1860-1924) was the publisher of the Oregon Journal newspaper in Portland. Collection includes correspondence, 1881-1924, regarding Oregon conservation, local and national politics, and the newspaper business. Other materials include a diary, scrapbooks for the Journal Publishing Co. and on the dairy industry in Oregon; and papers of Maria Clopton Jackson.

Laurence Gordon Smyth correspondence
Laurence Gordon Smyth (1902-1960) was a reporter and political editor for the Oregon Journal for 38 years. He also served as assistant for public information to Douglas McKay during McKay's tenure as Secretary of the Interior. Correspondence is primarily to Smyth's wife, Marie Mongrain Smyth, regarding his activities while traveling on Oregon Journal business, working for McKay in Washington, D.C., and personal matters.
Tom Stimmel scrapbooks
Thomas S. Stimmel was a staff writer and Oregon Legislature correspondent for the Oregon Journal newspaper. Collection includes scrapbooks with calendars of notes on legislative proceedings and clippings of Stimmel's articles reporting on the legislative sessions of 1973, 1975, 1977, and 1981.
