Mary Jane Carr papers
Mary Jane Carr was a children's writer and editor of the children's page in the Oregonian newspaper. Papers include biographical information and correspondence, 1916-1976, concerning Carr's works, the Disney film "Westward ho the wagons," and the gift of the manuscript of "Young Mac of Fort Vancouver" to the Kerlan collection at the University of Minnesota. Also included are manuscripts, typescripts, and clippings of poems, stories, scripts, and songs.
Early history of Tillamook
Original handwritten manuscript of "Early History of Tillamook," by Warren N. Vaughn, as well as typescript and microfilm copies. The collection also includes biographical information about Vaughn (1823-1907), who traveled to California in 1849 to mine for gold before living in Dayton, Oregon. In 1852, he journeyed to Tillamook, Oregon, where he would reside for the rest of his life, working as a farmer and cooper, and holding multiple roles in local government.

Manuscript excerpt from a logbook by Samuel C. Damon describing a journey down the Columbia River and through the Pacific Northwest. Damon was editor of "The Friend," a serial devoted to temperance and mariners, from 1845 to 1884.
William T. Muir papers
Collection consists of a manuscript titled "Examination in equity," a discourse on trusts and trustees, June 4, 1887. At the end of the paper is brief handwritten feedback from C. E. S. Wood.
