Benjamin and William Alvord letters
Collection includes a letter copy book belonging to William C. Alvord, as well as two manuscript letters to Benjamin Alvord, one from George E. Pickett, February 13, 1861, regarding the danger of a civil war; and one from James A. Garfield, November 20, 1880, thanking Alvord for his "congratulations."

Grace Howard Gray scrapbook
A scrapbook kept by Grace Howard Gray (1857-1949) to document family history and historic events, including mementos, drawings and ephemera collected during her lifetime. The scrapbook contains items related to the life of General O. O. Howard (1830-1909), Gray's father, and drawings by Guy Howard (1855-1899), her brother, and Charles Erskine Scott Wood (1852-1944). Additional materials were added to the scrapbook by other family members.

Materials include correspondence, title abstracts, church records, business materials, log books of car trips, maintenance and expenses, a scrapbook, and military, social, and educational memorabilia. Also included is correspondence from Charles Hoyt to James George during the Civil War, 1861-1863.
