U. S. Weather Bureau, The Dalles records
Collection includes memoranda of weather from diary of Judge Loughlin, 1856-1857, copied by Samuel K. Brooks; weather reports, showing daily maximum and minimum temperatures, barometric pressure, precipitation, 1875-1912; voluntary observers meteorological records, 1875-1912; report of river station at The Dalles, 1899-1909.
Edward A. Valentine papers
Edward Autrey Valentine (1893-1980) was an insurance executive, chairman of the Portland, Oregon, chapter of the Red Cross, and served in both world wars. Collection includes diaries, 1943-1945, regarding his service during World War II in Italy; correspondence, 1943-1959; typescript reminiscences; and miscellaneous documents and memorabilia.
George Vancouver collection
Small collection of copies of documents by and relating to George Vancouver and the expedition he commanded from 1791-1975, including extracts from a journal of Thomas Manby, who served with Vancouver; a letter regarding the choice of Vancouver to command the expedition; an essay and report by Vancouver; and papers relating to the controversy between Vancouver and Thomas Pitt. Also includes microfilm copies of ship logs, letters, lists, and other material.

Fones Wilbur diary
Manuscript diary of Fones Wilbur, who was born in New York in 1807 and later emigrated to Oregon, where he was a farmer, carpenter, businessman, schoolteacher, and temperance activist in the Silverton, Oregon, area. Entries document his activities, trips to nearby communities, purchases, prices, and weather details, as well as information about the lives of his neighbors, and provide insight into the interdependence of early emigrants to Oregon.
Women collection
