Marjorie Newhouse collection of materials relating to A. E. Doyle
Papers and photographs of and relating to Albert E. Doyle (1877-1928), an architect from Portland, Oregon, and his family. Materials include photographs of buildings that Doyle designed, correspondence, a combination diary and sketchbook that Doyle kept while traveling in Europe, and biographical and genealogical materials. The collection was compiled by Doyle's granddaughter Marjorie Newhouse (1933-2015).
John Newsom diary and letter
Pocket diary of John Newsom (1828-1902) from his travels to Idaho for gold mining, and an 1866 letter from Newsom to G. W. Taylor. Newsom came to Oregon in 1852, and did work mining and surveying in the Pacific Northwest and California until moving to Salem, Oregon, in 1864.

The papers consist of a journal with diary entries, cattle birth records, and financial records; two ledgers of financial records; loose financial records; and clippings about measurements, recommended cattle rations, and recommended amounts of seed to plant.
