Harry C. Kendall papers
Harry C. Kendall (1883-1978) was a Portland, Oregon, banker, businessman and philanthropist. Collection is partially processed and includes correspondence, speeches, newspaper clippings, prospectuses, deeds, indentures, financial reports, a minute book for the Sigma Nu Alumni Association, Portland Industries Financing Service papers, advertisements for stocks and bond issues, and documents bequesting 37 acres on Guemes Island, Washington.

Report with appendices, discussing the feasibility and desirability of preserving areas of the Columbia River Gorge for recreational purposes. The report was produced by the Pacific Northwest Regional Planning Commission's Columbia Gorge Committee, chaired by John Yeon (1910-1994). The committee would release another report about conservation of the Gorge, "Columbia River Gorge Conservation and Development," in 1937.

Collection includes correspondence, diaries, reports, articles, transparencies, maps and supply lists from three American Quintana Roo Expeditions in Mexico, 1965-1968, Vinson Massif Expedition in Antarctica, 1964-1965, and Rio Mezquital Expedition in Mexico, 1970.

An unprocessed addition to the collection includes speeches, poems, and manuscripts by Luiten, as well as articles, clippings, correspondence, and a scrapbook. Luiten (1915-1997) did public relations work for Weyerhaeuser and then became a Weyerhaeuser lobbyist to the Oregon Legislature, serving from 1953 to 1978.
