Willard Leonard's recollections were published as "A Boyhood with Sheep in the Oregon Desert" in Oregon Historical Quarterly. Part 1 was published in December 1975 (Volume 76, Number 4); Part 2 was published in March 1976 (Volume 77, Number 1); and Part 3 was published in June 1976 (Volume 77, Number 2).
