Charles A. Sprague papers
Charles Arthur Sprague (1887-1969) was a newspaper editor and publisher, and served as governor of Oregon from 1939 to 1943. Collection includes correspondence, 1896-1968; documents relating to committees and commissions, 1949-1969, including Colleges for Oregon's Future, the Oregon Geographic Names Board, the Commission on the Rights, Liberties and Responsibilities of the American Indian, and the Oregon State Constitutional Revision Commission; and a last will and testament.

Also included are brochures, calendars, and abstract of title for a parcel of land in Southwest Portland. Standard Insurance was originally founded in Portland as the Oregon Life Insurance Company by a German immigrant, Leo Samuel (1847-1916), in 1906.
