Morse family diary
Typescript diary, "The Red Book," of Add (Addison) and Nellie (Ellen) Morse. It includes the family's move from the Midwest to Portland, Oregon (1888-89); family genealogy; notes of Rex L. Morse; and a eulogy for Percy Mulford Morse.

Robert Newell papers
Papers of Robert Newell (1807-1869), a trapper, emigrant to Oregon, and Indian agent. Includes a typescript copy of Newell's diary of an 1868 voyage from Portland, Oregon, to Washington, D.C., with Nez Perce (Nimiipuu) leaders; handwritten copies of letters regarding William Gray's "History of Oregon"; and Newell's account of the 1843 meeting at Champoeg, which formed the provisional government of the Oregon Territory. Only a small number of the items are original documents.
Marjorie Newhouse collection of materials relating to A. E. Doyle
Papers and photographs of and relating to Albert E. Doyle (1877-1928), an architect from Portland, Oregon, and his family. Materials include photographs of buildings that Doyle designed, correspondence, a combination diary and sketchbook that Doyle kept while traveling in Europe, and biographical and genealogical materials. The collection was compiled by Doyle's granddaughter Marjorie Newhouse (1933-2015).
John Newsom diary and letter
Pocket diary of John Newsom (1828-1902) from his travels to Idaho for gold mining, and an 1866 letter from Newsom to G. W. Taylor. Newsom came to Oregon in 1852, and did work mining and surveying in the Pacific Northwest and California until moving to Salem, Oregon, in 1864.

Includes an incomplete overland diary of 1849; an 1860 diary of a hunting trip on the Deschutes River; a diary of a trip of 1864-1865 through Indian country; survey notes; Chinook vocabulary; papers of Noble & Scholl relating to stock raising near The Dalles, Oregon; military papers; and papers regarding an Indian depredation claim by Brooke, Bomford and Company.
Papers of unidentified farmer
Papers of an unidentified farmer who lived in Portland, Oregon, and operated a farm near Boring, Oregon, from the 1920s until at least the 1940s. The papers consist of a journal with diary entries, cattle birth records, and financial records; two ledgers of financial records; loose financial records; and clippings about measurements, recommended cattle rations, and recommended amounts of seed to plant.

Diaries, notebooks, and other papers of Joseph Paquet (1841-1924), an Oregon shipbuilder and construction contractor. Includes notes and specifications on steamboats active on the Willamette and Columbia rivers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
