George Vancouver collection
Small collection of copies of documents by and relating to George Vancouver and the expedition he commanded from 1791-1975, including extracts from a journal of Thomas Manby, who served with Vancouver; a letter regarding the choice of Vancouver to command the expedition; an essay and report by Vancouver; and papers relating to the controversy between Vancouver and Thomas Pitt. Also includes microfilm copies of ship logs, letters, lists, and other material.

Collection includes "Vanport City Rules and Regulations," 1943, with map of Vanport and index; photocopy of "Vanport City Flood 1948," an American Red Cross report; "Vanport: Emergency Relief Operations," a Salvation Army publication; and four watercolors depicting life in Vanport, 1942-1946.

Collection consists of 10 black-and-white photographs of the Vanport flood in 1948, taken by an unidentified photographer. Most of the photographs are aerial views showing the floodwaters, damaged and floating buildings, and other debris. Several photographs show people standing amid the wreckage.

Collection includes an autograph book with several pages of handwritten names and hometowns of seventh- and eighth-grade students at Vanport School, 1945; five photocopied photographs of students, staff, and school grounds at Vanport School, 1944-1945; and one photocopied journal article titled "The Vanport Flood: Clark v. United States."

Small collection of black and white photographs of Vanport, Oregon, before and after the flood of 1948. The photographs belonged to Dale Skovgaard and include images of Skovgaard and his family, who lived in Vanport at the time of the flood.
