William R. Stephens papers
The bulk of the collection consists of a typescript copy of William R. Stephens' 1930 autobiography, written when he was 90. Other materials include an application for membership in the Grand Army of the Republic, a deed to Jacob B. and Lucy M. Kuhns, conveying property in Washington County, Oregon; and correspondence concerning Stephens' pension, Civil War record, and headstone.

Manuscript diary of Private H. C. C. Stevens, Battery E, 65th Coast Artillery Corps., February 22, 1918-January 30, 1919, regarding his experiences as an American soldier in France during World War I. Stevens (1898-1979) was a native of Portland, Oregon. He became a partner in the insurance company Stevens & Brewster, served as the president of the Oregon Association of Insurance Agents, and was a member of many civic organizations.
