The collection consists of materials compiled by Roger Rasmussen. These include records and ephemera of Baker Klan No. 13, to which his grandfather Walter Lee Lansing (1897-1962) had belonged; Rasmussen's own research about members of the Ku Klux Klan in Oregon and other individuals; and books and articles about the Klan, white supremacy, and anti-Catholicism.

Abstract Papers of William Wakeman Raymond (1815-1894) of Oregon, primarily relating to his role as an Indian agent. The papers include correspondence about the treatment of Native peoples and the possibility of Native people claiming land; claims that Clatsop Chief Tostou made against the United States for destroyed or confiscated property; and handwritten copies of three unratified 1851 treaties with Natives peoples. Abstract

Small collection of materials related to the military service of Ross E. Read of Portland, Oregon, in Company D of the 1st U.S. Engineers during World War I. The bulk of the collection consists of documents and correspondence regarding citations and awards bestowed on Read for heroism during combat in Cantigny, France, in May 1918, and a book, published circa 1918, documenting the operations of the 1st U.S. Engineers during the war.

Martin Ready affidavit made in the case of A. C. Barclay v. Oregon-Washington Railroad & Navigation Company

Abstract

A. C. Barclay, a former policeman, was injured in a train collision in Malheur County, Oregon. He brought suit not only against the Oregon-Washington Railroad and Navigation Company, but also against its employees. Collection consists of a typescript affidavit, wherein Martin Ready denies Barclay's allegation that he was interested in gaming rooms above the Cactus Saloon, and suggests that Barclay had him confused with Martin Denny, the owner of a gambling den in the area.
