Administrative history

Brooks-Scanlon, Inc. was founded as Brooks Brothers by Lester R. Brooks, Dwight F. Brooks and Anson Brooks in Minneapolis, Minnesota, 1873. The company purchased its first lumberyard in 1875 and formed Brooks-Scanlon Lumber Company in 1901. It purchased Oregon timber holdings and built a sawmill in Bend in 1915. Its other major operations are located in Florida, Louisiana, British Columbia and Minnesota.
