Abstract
Elmer Perry Dodd (born 1869) was a developer and irrigation advocate for the Umatilla area of Oregon. Collection includes correspondence, research notes, documents and printed materials regarding irrigation projects in the Umatilla area, particularly the Umatilla Rapids Project and McNary Dam, 1902-1954; and correspondence and documents regarding the Columbia Valley Association, Inland Waterways Association, and Bureau of Reclamation hearings. Correspondents include Walter M. Pierce, Charles L. McNary, Frederick Steiwer, Marshall N. Dana and Homer D. Angell.

Biographical note
Elmer Perry Dodd (born 1869) was a developer and irrigation advocate for the Umatilla area of Oregon. He was also known as the father of the McNary Dam. He was an editor, real estate broker, state legislator (1919-1920), Republican gubernatorial candidate (1934), founder of the Tri-State Development League (later Inland Empire Waterways Association), and a resident of Hermiston, Oregon.
