Scope and Contents

Collection consists of 10 mounted black and white photographs taken by E. J. Humbert between 1912 and 1914. Most of the photographs in the collection show interior and exterior views of power plants in Portland and Oregon City, Oregon, including the Station “B” Power House in Portland and the Station “E” Electric Steam Plant in Oregon City. Also included are a photograph of Willamette Falls and photographs of Portland and Oregon City street scenes.

Biographical note

E. J. Humbert was an industrial electrician for the Portland Railway Light and Power Company. He was born in Lyons, New York, in 1885 and moved to Portland, Oregon, in 1908. Humbert retired in 1945 and continued to live in the Portland area until his death in 1982.
