The bulk of the collection consists of typescript copies of Minto's writing on topics including life in Oregon, leaders of 1843-1844, the Cayuse War, the Tillamook people, and use of forest resources, as well as typescripts of Minto's autobiography. Much of the material in this collection was copied from the Oregon Historical Society Research Library's collection of John Minto's papers, Mss 752.
