Typescript correspondence with photocopy documents, 1864-1965, between Leah C. Menefee of Eugene, Oregon (identified as Mrs. D. F. Menefee in the correspondence), and various county and state archives, documenting a case of mistaken identity of a man, Thomas W. Scott, who died of a gunshot accident in Wasco, Oregon, on June 14, 1864. He was variously thought to be William M. Macy, William Mace, and F. W. Schmidt, Smith, and Scott.
