Biographical note

Henry Earl Haefner was born in Giard Township, Iowa, in 1884. He began working with the U.S. Forest Service in 1908, beginning in the Coconino National Forest in Arizona. He worked in the Siskiyou National Forest from 1909 to 1925. He retired from the Forest Service in the 1940s. Haefner died in 1980.
