Scope and Contents
Papers of Norman D. Johnson consist of correspondence, 1937-1941, including postcards, telegrams and letters; bills and receipts; a birth certificate, 1916; papers, publications, and ephemera related to the YMCA and the LTL Societies, as well as miscellaneous ephemera including programs, business cards, and ticket stubs. The collection also includes materials related to animation and to Walt Disney Productions, circa 1937-1941, including a letter in response to an inquiry about an animation role with the company and an accompanying blank application form; a typescript of a 1933 paper titled "The History of the Animated Cartoon" by Ed Theisen; a typescript document about Walt Disney's "Fantasia"; a typescript biographical sketch of Walt Disney; and a typescript document about production procedures at the company, titled "Disney Procedure with Particular Reference to Snow White."
