Administrative history

Bardsley-Haslacher was a public opinion researcher firm. Though not known by that name until 1965, it had its roots in an earlier organization, Dan E. Clark II and Associates, which was established in Portland in 1947, on the third floor of 1320 SW Broadway. Dan E. Clark II, the original founder, joined into a partnership with J. Roy Bardsley, and Robert Haslacher in 1958. J. Roy Bardsley, Robert Haslacher, and until 1965, Clark, took politicians, businesses, and private individuals as clients. They researched the popular response to advertisements, initiatives, and public personalities. Some of the businesses that utilized their services included U.S. National Bank, and First Interstate Bank, Blue Cross-Blue Shield Association, radio station KRDR of Eugene, and newspapers including the Oregonian, with which they shared a building. The company closed in 1985.
