Scope and Contents
Photocopies, made by the Oregon Historical Society, of documents from the collections of the U.S. National Archives that pertain to military roads in Oregon, 1854-1858, including Astoria-Salem roads and Scottsburg-Myrtle Creek road. Also included are typescript copies of documents pertaining to the activities of the Bureau of Topographical Engineers of the War Department on the Columbia River, from Columbia Barracks (Fort Vancouver) to Fort Dalles, 1855-1857 and 1874-1875.
