Watercolor sketch, circa 1850-1930, 30.5 x 22.5 cm, depicting soldiers and Native people firing on one another at the Wyoming camp of the F & K Companies of the 9th Infantry during the Indian Wars. Handwritten in ink below the sketch is the text: "Camp on Snake River, Wyo. / F & K Cies 9th Infantry attacked by the Red Devils." Numbers are handwritten in pencil above tents and buildings depicted in the sketch, and an accompanying key provides information about each marked structure.
