Collection consists of research materials compiled by Stephen L. Wasby for his scholarship on obscenity laws in Oregon. Materials date from 1958-1972, with the bulk dating from 1958-1962. A large portion of the collection consists of interview notes and transcripts. Biographical note

Stephen L. Wasby received a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Oregon in 1962. His doctoral dissertation, completed that year, was titled "The Pure and the Prurient: The Politics of Obscene Literature in Oregon."
