Papers of John W. Owens include manuscript correspondence, 1880-1882, from family members in Melrose, Kansas, and from friends and several female suitors. Correspondents include Hazel Wylde and W. E. Showers. Also included are photocopy newspaper articles, circa 1880, mostly printing letters from Hazel Wylde; a bound notebook, 1 volume, circa 1880, containing accounts, addresses, and quotes; receipts; and miscellaneous ephemera.
