Records and memorabilia of the Oregon Shipbuilding Corporation of Portland, Oregon. Materials include reports, instructional manuals and informational pamphlets, photograph albums, and souvenir publications. The Oregon Shipbuilding Corporation (sometimes called the Oregon Shipbuilding Company) was one of three shipyards that Henry J. Kaiser established in Portland and in Vancouver, Washington, to produce vessels during World War II. The company's manager was Albert Bauer (1900-1993).

Letter from U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882-1945) to Albert Bauer (1900-1993) about the importance of manufacturing amphibious combat transports. Bauer was the general manager of the Oregon Shipbuilding Corporation, which built ships and other watercraft for the U.S. armed forces during World War II.
