Abstract Homer T. Shaver joined his family business, Shaver Company, in 1921. He helped organize a towboat firm, Shaver Forward Company, to haul grain to Portland from the Upper Columbia River. In 1967, he became president of Shaver Transportation. Abstract

The papers of E. Mowbray Tate (1902-1988), as well as those of members of Tate's family. Tate grew up in Portland, Oregon, and during his life worked as a Presbyterian minister, a missionary to Thailand, and a counselor, dean, or professor at several colleges and universities.
