Oral history interview with Selma J. Denecke conducted by Elizabeth Meyer from March 17 to June 23, 1999, as part of the United States District Court Oral History Project. In the interview, Denecke discusses her interest in art and music, her family life, and the career of her husband, Arno H. Denecke, who served as chief justice of the Oregon Supreme Court.

The interviews were conducted over a period of three years, from approximately 1990 to 1993. Most were conducted by Robert Peirce, who was then the librarian at the art museum. Interviewees include Bob Sitton, Bill Foster, Clyde Rice, William Givler, Pietro Belluschi, Marian Kolisch, Francis J. Newton, Robert O. Lee, and members of the Portland Art Museum Women's Council.
