Abstract

Walter Alling Goss (1877-1950) was a Portland insurance agent, winner of several Northwest tennis championships and first president of the Irvington Tennis Club. Scrapbook includes clippings, programs, and memorabilia relating to Goss's tennis accomplishments and his activities with the Irvington Tennis Club and the YMCA.

Scrapbook documenting the Greater Portland Women's Bowling Association's successful bid for Portland, Oregon, to be the host city for the Women's International Bowling Congress (WIBC) Championship Tournament. The scrapbook also documents the tournament itself. The 48th WIBC Championship Tournament was held in Portland in April and May 1965.

Hing and Chinn discuss their family background and early life on a hop farm in Tualatin, Oregon. Hing also talks about playing in a band whose members were all Chinese American women, and about learning to fly with pilot Tex Rankin in Portland during the 1930s.
