Brig Sequin passenger lists
Originals, photostatic reproductions, and photocopies of two manuscript passenger lists for voyages of the brig Sequin, commanded by Captain Z. C. Norton, to Portland, Oregon (then the Oregon Territory). Norton (1808-1879) built the Sequin in 1847, and made trips to ports in the Caribbean and South America before sailing for San Francisco, California. Norton carried freight and passengers on several trips between San Francisco and Portland from 1849 to 1850.

Charles Herbert Broderick was a sailor from Eureka, California. Collection consists primarily of correspondence to his mother regarding his travels in England, India, New York, and San Francisco.
Dan Wyman Burnside papers
Collection consists of Oath of Master, D. W. Burnside, for the steamer Active, Canemah, Oregon, December 11, 1865. Dan Wyman Burnside was born in Vermont in 1825. He came to Oregon by way of California in 1852, and settled in Portland.
