Oral history interview with Sir James McDonald conducted by Marian W. Kolisch on February 6, 1986. McDonald immigrated to the United States from Scotland in the 1920s and became the British Consul for Oregon in 1938.

Papers primarily relate to his work in the lumber industry, including his firm, the Patrick Lumber Company; other materials include political papers and personal papers. Patrick worked at the Bridal Veil Lumbering Company and the Douglas Fir Sales Company before founding the Patrick Lumber Company in 1915.
